Sharp temperature fall did not affect power supply quality in Moscow and Moscow region

As a result of comprehensive and timely preparation for winter season, AO MOSENERGO is able to ensure reliable power supply for its customers. Due to falling temperatures, heat consumption in Moscow region jumped on average 35% as compared to the previous week, and 8.4% against January 2002. AO MOSENERGO increased water temperature in the system from 98°Ñ to 120°Ñ.

Fuel reserves at AO MOSENERGO power stations are at required levels. As of February 4, 2003, the company has 557,000 tons of fuel oil, 697,000 tons of Kuzbass coal and 223,000 tons of Moscow coal. Coal and fuel oil reserves are continuously replenished in accordance with RAO UES requirements.

From the very beginning and throughout the current heating season AO MOSENERGO ensures reliable and uninterrupted power supply for Moscow region. Not a single emergency situation occurred in December – January, as well as during the recent sharp temperature fall.
