SS/L is hurting. It does not matter who builds the best satellite. If LMT/BA can offer a better deal with guarantees then they can effectively keep business from SS/L. If SS/L goes out of business, then so-be-it. Competition is eliminated, and BA/LMT or whoever does not need to jump through any legal hoops with a consolidation effort. All they have to do is wait it out. They have the deep pockets to do so. It is costing LOR to keep the lights on at SS/L. Any FSS assets that are desired can be had by waiting. It is a bad business year anyway so everyone has to wait for a turn-around. Waiting is going to kill LOR.
