FDR never scaled a cliff in WWII, JFK and LBJ didn't fight in Vietnam, and Cliton certainly didn't get his hands dirty when he sent troops into various and sundry theaters. Claiming that hawks need a personal involvement to justify their opinions or decisions about war is a red herring.
