Archie, Just got back from a week long conference on network computing -- now that's a real brain tease. (BTW - Allen Murdock, your friends at Novell did quite a job of explaining a strategy -- hopefully it's not too late.) Arhcie, I've just read all the posts (can't believe you were accused of being a sexist - that cracked me up) and it sounds like cooler heads have prevailed in regards to Iomega. It's still good to see all the people I respect in this thread haven't bailed (you, Young, Mary, Janice, Guy, etc..).
Kim Edwards is a smart man. Having trained in the battlefields of Fortune 100 companies, I think (IMHO) that he knows what he is doing. Mary, I do agree that he has made some mistakes, but I think they are just hiccups in becoming a global company. If we all remember Iomega just 18 months ago was a small little company from Roy (for hockey fans it sounds cooler if you pronounce Roy like the hockey goalie Patrick Roy -- gives Iomega a kind of cool, cosmo feel) that has blossomed into a billion+ company -- you've got to expect growth problems when you increase a company size this quickly. Plus standards aren't created overnight, a point that Young has been preaching for quite some time. Hang in there -- things are cool. This personal storage solution business that Iomega has created is catching on -- just be patient.
