3. I was surprised at the large numbers of Muslims in U.S. prisons. Our prison system has long been a school where criminals refine their skills; it seems that misguided attempts at multiculturalism could make prisons into schools for terrorists, with both teachers and students supported at U.S. taxpayer expense.

I don't recall whether this was mentioned in the article or not (I confess to reading it in something of a hurry) but there has been, at least it's my impression, a long history of Black Muslim recruitment in prisons. And, it's also my impression, that prison authorities deemed that a good thing. I have no idea whether there is any relation between Black Muslims and Al Q but would be quite surprised to hear of any.
