Eagleberger also took Cheney to task for his very early chest thumping on Iraq, making it seem that the US would act unilaterally. I am leaning in your direction, I think that it was good cop/bad cop all along. No peeps from Cheney or Rumsfield in a few days. It's vacation days for Bad Cops. I thought that Powell delivered a couple of Adlai Stephenson momemnts - the 'nerve agent' tape and the satellite photo of the chemical weapons storage. What part of here are the WMD don't you get, Saddam. The French will fold like a cheap suit any day now. Paul
