Message 18543319 Our usual reaction in attempting behavior modification has run heavily to the putative side. Please see "Drugs, The War On" to see how effective this approach has been. IMHO, we must focus more on the reward side. What is it they want most? What will they give up in exchange for it? I know it sounds weak and simplistic to put ourselves in their shoes for a time, but it does not have to be, given our position of dominance, and would most likely be the best thing we could possibly do. (Thanks too, for noticing my line about there being some hardcore nutjobs that will not respond to any sort of attempt at logic. I do not believe that Saddam falls into this category, though).
