Can someone answer a newbie question please? When looking at futures contracts, why would I not buy a further month out, say December instead of June, when the strike price is almost the same? Specifically, looking at gold,June settled at 378.20 while December is at 380.10. 6 months more time looking for a rise of less than two dollars seems like a no brainer to me.
Any insight will be much appreciated.
TIA
Nelson
