Do you think the families of those who will lose their lives on both sides will agree with your casual dismissal?

Not at all. But by any reasonable measure, the loss of some American lives to remove Saddam is worthwhile. If were were going to lose tens of thousands of American lives, it would be different -- I might be more apt to consider whether the liberation of Iraq is worthwhile, at least at this time. It would also make the risk of failed containment worth of consideration. But we won't, so the obvious best choice is removal.

As to Iraqi lives, I hate that some Iraqi innocents will die. However, I'm quite certain that the number of Iraqi civilians who die will be many fewer than those who would die at the hands of Saddam's brutal regime.

As to Iraqi military, they're unlucky to be living at a time when Iraq is under the control of a brutal dictator. Their deaths are necessary to bring freedom and stability to region. It is unfair, as they aren't serving by their own free will.

Why are you opposed to the liberation of Iraq but you were so much in favor of Clinton's war on Milosivec, in which we clearly did not have as much of a righteous cause?
