re: sign of strength

"The strong sales of the two models - F2051 launched on Jan. 18 and N2051 offered on Feb. 3 - have boosted the total sales of FOMA mobile phones to 152,000."

I wonder how many of these new model sales are replacement handsets?

Sounds like these "strong sales" numbers are included in the latest 150K subscriber count.

Wait - this doesn't appear to be a sub count - but a count of total handset sales.

Does it include all the handsets that were sold - and recalled?

How many subs does FOMA really have?

LOL!

It's interesting that Keitel made it quite clear that FOMA is performing at 64kbs.

It seems that there are 2 pregnant questions for the 3GSM industry to face:

1) Can wCDMA equal present performance of vanilla 1x in Korea and Japan?

2) Is wCDMA 3G?
