Cinema Ride Opens Las Vegas Ticket Booth
LOS ANGELES (July 28) BUSINESS WIRE -July 28, 1997--Cinema Ride Inc.
(NASDAQ:MOVE) has opened a manned ticket booth on the main level of the
Ceasars Forum Shopping Mall in Las Vegas, it was announced Monday by
Mitch Francis, Cinema Ride chairman and chief executive officer.
The booth, located near Planet Hollywood and the Disney Store, is open
daily from 10 a.m. until closing and is staffed by two Cinema Ride
employees. Cinema Ride's Las Vegas facility was the first of the
company's 3-D simulator thrill ride facilities in the United States.
It opened in 1995. The company currently has approximately 42 full-
and part-time employees at the Las Vegas facility.
"We are very pleased with the initial response to our main-level ticket
booth," said Francis, chairman and CEO.
"We opened the booth on July 4th, and the same day established a
one-day company record of more than $13,000 in tickets sold," he
continued.
Cinema Ride features the first and only 3-D simulator thrill ride
facilities in the United States. Military-quality simulators are
programmed by computer to move in concert with on-screen action.
Cinema Ride customers can experience being on a roller coaster, flying
aboard a spaceship, being on board a train traveling through a haunted
graveyard, being aboard a racing submarine and, in Cinema Ride's latest
adventure, skiing and snowboarding down the slopes of Vail on "Warren
Miller's Ski Ride."
To date, the company has developed and opened three facilities, in Las
Vegas; Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and Times Square in New York City.
