What is your plan for North Korea? How would you have handled it differently?

Well I recognize I have the advantage of hindsight here but I always thought the " axis of evil" statement a silly batmanesque choice of words. I presume I would have undertaken a Foreign Affairs and Policy stance that tried to bring other countries onside to ultimately "win" the situation. That would have included upgrading the UN as opposed to undermining it. The problem I see is that the US is wanting to become the UN by itself and I know that wont work. Success breeds contempt and that is a simple fact of life IMO.

FWIW, here's a thought I posted elsewhere...

"I think the world perceives the Iraq citizenry to be a hostage of their disgusting leadership and in a frightening and brutal situation from which they cannot extract themselves for lack of resources. If the US enters and runs roughshod over these brutalized hostages by killing and maiming them, then I think the US is in for a backlash born of disgust from the world. If I am correct, this will not help the US cause in the long term but make it worse. I would prefer to see subversive means to attack the govt. and leave the people unharmed.
It may not be a pretty picture, the forthcoming slaughter. Is there a better way? You will note that I am promoting eliminating the Iraq regime.

and another.....

"My fear is that the US economy will become so strained with military expense that the countrys mood will become more aggressive and a "damn the consequences" attitude will guarantee escalation of all negative consequences.

Serious stuff.

Throwing out years of delicate foreign diplomacy for a gun slinging posture is very scary. It's a dice roll. "
