Neither can newborns think for themselves. So thought is obviously not the criterion upon which we can objectively determine human existence. Very much of human nature is being expressed long before thought even takes place. That expression is human, every bit as much as thought. Should we eliminate it, humanity cannot exist.

When you focus upon thought, you focus upon an arbitrary human attribute. You could just as well focus upon human defecation or some other human behavior. Thought itself literally depends upon other human expression that takes place long before birth. So then to accurately define humanity, we must refer also to this self-expression. That uniquely human self-expression begins at conception. It is what all humanity is based upon. That is a most objective, most scientific fact.
