I don't know... all I know is that the executives around here are all over TV saying the "global tension" is causing international sales to completely shut down despite a falling dollar. This would be understandable if someone had just been attacked but it seems to me the WH is causing most of the tension. TJ Rogers was on TV a week ago saying he didn't support Bush's foreign policy and I know the Applied management is openly blaming Bush for having yet more shutdowns... the semi equipment sector is on its knees and has already cut staff to 50% of peak and they really don't want to cut more. Bear Stearns recently dropped coverage of the entire sector thats how bad business is and mgmt is blaming the Bush administration.

Our companies are global and our president is isolationist. The level of worldwide tension is higher than I've ever seen even right after 911. Lots of people that voted for Bush are abandoning him here and the GDP estimates for 03 are being revised to less than 2% growth. Yes we would have had a brutal recession especially in tech without Bush. But he has prolonged the pain severly. I support Powell as a statesman though.
