100 years is a long time in the internet age....

The Iraqi war will bring an end to American dreams much quicker than 100 years......and yes, i agree partly, it will be from within...but it will also be from without.

BTW: I agree with you about the aid thingie. Honesty, isolation, and working towards mutual benefit with only select number of countries would be a good step for US to take, but the political and the commercial group is afraid of losing out to the europeans and chinese, and so will not consider it. In other words, integrity is a lost commodity.

Most arab infrastructure would collapse if trade was prohibited to middle east. but...who will bell the cat ? Esp if the cat offers oil dips with dinars crunchees with crackers for snacks...

Rebuilding of Iraq....what will it be worth ? What was rebuilding of Kuwait worth ? I lived in ME at the time and saw the carcasses being divided up and auctioned......witnessed pure and sickening greed of corporate america...i remember the 'coalition' had assigned %age allocation for contracts....80% to the US, 10% to britain...and the remainig 10% to other states.....and same with arms and military equipment and aircrafts for the entire region...

Everyone wins i guess....and thats life....but the least one can do is be honest about the purpose....
