You are thinking in terms of what would be good for the USA economically and not in term of what would be good for Bush family and friends economically. Sure we could spend a 100 billion in tax payer money on the war, but what does it matter to the instigators? Even if they only make a return of a million or two on their investment, they make out like bandits as they are spending other peoples money.

Remember also Venezuela (namely Chavez) pissed off the big oil companies by increasing the amount of money that Venezuela gets to keep from the profits being made on their oil. Also Chavez has been credit for giving OPEC teeth once again. Thus the oil companies, errr...the current US government, were happy when they thought he was being ousted.

What is wanted is for all oil producing countries to open there doors to us and let us pump out all their oil at prices decided by us. Sure they would love to get their claws deeper into Venezuela, but Iraq looks like the easiest target right now and the cost to get the job done is irrelevant, as I said, because it will be paid with other peoples money.

Maybe we should use the 100 billion to subsidize oil companies if they promise not to start any wars? <g/ng>
