Ah... those Russkies.. Trying to wiggle their way out of this so they don't have to face the fact that Saddam is trying to hide his weapons:

The Iraqi message could have involved anything from out-of-date shells, and we do not know whether the subject of this conversation was the cache of obsolete arms that the inspectors found lying under three years of bird excrement, to banned components. It does not automatically mean that weapons of mass destruction are involved as Colin Powell so simplistically and childishly tried to state.

Hello?? Why do they need to evacuate anything?? If they have some "out-of-date" shells, they should be willing to have them inspected and destroyed. As it stands, now there is NO RECORD that these shells ever existed. A CLEAR VIOLATION of resolution 1441.

Hey.. if they find some that were not previously discovered, I would feel a heck of lot better than having them sneak around trying to avoid having them found and destroying them secretly.

And they ignore mentioning the 2,000 pages of documents pulled out the house of an Iraqi nuclear scientist.. Documents which SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY DISCLOSED to the inspectors.

So how many more documents and/or actual weaponry/technology actually has been hidden in someone's residence? Are we going to see the inspectors engage in a house to house cordon and search operation??

I loved how the french ambassador said.. "double.. triple the inspectors!!" More people... inspect everything.. Anything to avoid war...

Easy for him to say when France doesn't have over 100,000 troops standing by providing the "stick" that will pummel Saddam when he refuses the "carrot"...
