off topic, sort of....... Augustine covered VPHM, back in the "common cold" days, for US Bancorp Piper Jaffray. He has to know about the leverage. What do guys like this do, when they see a stock crash to levels that preclude professional interest? Do they just walk away from the classic biotech investment scheme, buying leverage? Why aren't these guys bored silly in this post-bubble world, covering only the big crap that everyone else covers? Where's the challenge? They could completely blow a major call and not cost clients more than 20%. Rumors about the potential that this year's H&Q might be the last? Why not? The underwriters have proven that they're cowards, IMO.
