seriously Israel, what do you want them to do? the only thing holding the mortgage bubble together is confidence, and the last person who should be yelling 'fire' in a crowded theatre is the White House. yeah, it's all funny and stuff to post "TL & EV", but i would think that the majority of us do really NOT want to see a world where one of the GSE's suffers a liquidity crisis -- we ain't talking some little irrelevant speck like Enron here. not to mention the fact that i don't think any of us want to see the politicians who will be in the White House if in fact a GSE blow-up comes to pass. about the best the Bushies can do is try to work behind the scenes to dilute the market dominance of Freddie & Fannie while at the same time saying everything is fine.
