Note, according to the federal guidelines most professional athletes would be considered obese since they don't take into account % of body fat, but only height and weight and generalizations of body composition. The boston globe ran a piece a few months back that showed the Red Sox' Nomar Garciappara as obese according to the standards.

In terms of drug development and obesity there's lots of recent evidence out that very modest losses in weight lead to big benefits in health. This should imo be helpful to regn whose study results will be out in a couple of months. A safe drug causing 100's of pounds in weight loss is unrealistic, a drug showing 10-20 pounds of benefit may not be.

If I'm not mistaken, the regn trial tried to combine lifestyle changes with the phase III. Maybe MZ can confirm or refute this.
