Unfortunately, it did take on an albatross. VTEL thought CLIX's technology was further along than it was before it purchased it, according to the CFO. They may have been misled? CLIX technology will not result in new, separate products but will be incorporated into exiting VTEL products. The current price reflects street belief that VTEL will not make 50-60c in FY 1998, as is now estimated.

What is interesting is that PCTL and VSVR boards consider possibility or hope for a buyouy (though unlikely for them), but no one here does for VTEL--a reflection of how much people have lost hope.
