PACKARD BELL NEC INC. ASSUMES NEC RETAIL BUSINESS IN CANADA
MISSISSAUGA, Ont., Jan. 20 /CNW/ - As part of a natural evolution following the July 15, 1996 global merger between NEC Corporation's worldwide personal computer operations outside of Japan and Packard Bell Electronics Inc., Packard Bell NEC Inc. Canada today announced the following organizational changes, effective immediately. Henry Porsch will continue as vice president -- marketing, Packard Bell NEC Inc. Canada, and now assumes responsibility for marketing NEC's retail business as well. Henry's primary responsibilities include all product marketing issues for the Packard Bell and NEC divisions in Canada including configurations, pricing, inventory management and marketing materials. He oversees special promotional events, such as trade shows and advertising campaigns, coordinates the technical support and customer service operations. Terry Boyko has been promoted to vice president -- retail sales, Packard Bell NEC Inc. Canada. Formerly vice president, retail and educational sales, Packard Bell Division, Terry will be responsible for the management and continuous development of all Packard Bell and NEC retail sales accounts across Canada. Patrick Kewin has been appointed National Director -- Sales and Marketing for the NEC Computer Systems Division Canada. Formerly national sales director, Pat will maintain responsibility for end-user and channel sales and will also assume overall responsibility for marketing for the Canadian region. Gregory Milkovich has been promoted to the position of national marketing manager. Formerly business development manager, Greg will develop key channel and end-user marketing programs and will be responsible for product branding in Canada. Gregory Myers, vice president of sales and marketing for NEC Computer Systems Division Canada will be leaving the company to pursue other career opportunities in the information technology industry. ``1997 will be a great year for Packard Bell and NEC brands,'' said Porsch. ``We welcome the recent addition of NEC's retail business to the Packard Bell NEC family as a natural development of the corporate merger in Canada.''
