Important for Bushies to remember, Dick Armey and other Republicans had just as many reservations about Iraq as mainstream Democrats like Gephardt, Feinstein, Edwards, Bayh and Kerry. Kennedy and Pelosi on the left simply balanced out hardcore unilateral (chicken)hawks on the right. But in the middle there was a lot of agreement.

It has really irked me the right-wing has gone around saying democrats are traitors, anti-American and wimps when Armey, many top generals, Powell, several former security advisors and Secretaries of State from both parties, and most of the general public all had the same misgivings.

Together, the "moderates" forced Bush to go to the UN. Now we have at least semi-legitimacy for doing whatever the hell we want over there. Anyway, the attack dog pundits on the right really owe Democrats an apology, one they will never offer of course. because together, the two parties and differing voices finally came together and made a decent compromise on Iraq. Powell turns out to be the hero (so far). Bush is the top dog so he gets the final word. And his final word will no doubt be war. So let's just sit back, watch the action and pray it doesn't turn into a clusterf**k.
