Gulf War I was called the same thing. The success of Stormin' Norman surprised everyone, except perhaps Norman himself.

I remember because I was a young, impressionable high schooler back then, and I closely followed the media. No one predicted the relative cakewalk that we had. Even the news media didn't expect to have Iraqis surrendering to them.
