You have to ask yourself - who do you believe - Saddam Hussein and his cronies or Colin Powell and George Bush?
Neither. I believe Blix et al and the UN.
The former are unbiased, on the ground, and quite able to decide scientifically whether or not there is a basis for the accusations.
The latter might be comprised of parties some of which would have biases, but in total, they are closest thing to an international consensus that we have. And they are trying hard for avoiding war, which is fine by me.
How much does he have to do for people to realize he is an evil man?
WHO CARES if he is "evil", "nice", "bad", "nasty", "fun", or however else kids call other kids???
This is a war we are talking about, NOT a popularity contest. Saddam is not nice, let's not vote for him in the Mr Congeniality contest.
Iraq will continue to be a sovereign country after Saddam's government is gone
Really? We'll see just how independent they will be...
and the country will be much better off.
Of course they will be better off to finally have some medicine, trade, etc. However, having their oil riches controlled by the US is probably not anybody's idea of an independent, good future for their country... |
