the consumer is looking great, the only thing I was worried about was debt levels (I keep hearing they are sky high and out of control, but not sure I believe it).

Retail sales outstanding post xmas. Its hard to show good comps for the retailers because prices are going down for food and clothes. But in absolute terms consumer is ok. Business spending is very very bad though.
