If we plan to have any meaningful and lasting recovery we absolutely need stable oil prices. The target of 22-25 I think would be fine. However, it would be nice to get a downdraft like experienced after the last war. If we could get 6-12 months of oil in the 12-18 range I believe it would increase our chances for a solid recovery.

Now think about this as well. If we can move in and take control of Iraq I think we could accomplish many things. First of all...we don't need to steal their oil. I believe We could pay them 15 (maybe less) per barrel and if we used that money to build infrastructure we could make Iraq the envy of the middle east. As it stands now only a few benefit from the riches that middle eastern oil spins off. By spreading the money around in Iraq I think people who now live in Iran, Saudi Arabia etc. would start turning on their own corrupt governments. Hell....I think there are only 25 million people in Iraq. Imagine the paradise we could build for a population that small with 15 dollar per barrel oil. I think we could make them all wealthy and above all EDUCATED! That is the key to ending 2000 years of war and BS in the middle east. Plant a democratic seed right in the middle that outshines the rest of these pathetic countries that surround it. And we get cheap oil to boot.....their oil can pay the entire cost for just such an event even if we pay just 15 bucks a barrel....I'm convinced it would work
