>>Too bad we didn't reallocate some of the billions in Star Wars into Ricin Wars.<<

Unfortunately, we can't. Castor beans grow wild all over the world.

Sort of like fertilizer bombs. Any farmer can buy the ingredients, any clever thief can steal them. The way we deal with fertilizer bombs is putting concrete barriers around government buildings, but if terrorists wanted to blow up a hospital, or a school, or a nightclub in Bali, nothing to stop them.

Sort of like suicide bombers, sort of like snipers.

That's the beauty of low tech warfare. They hit us where we are the most vulnerable, because we can't imagine blowing up nightclubs, pizza parlors, and day care centers, or poisoning salad bars. We can't imagine shooting perfect strangers while they pump gas.

Our minds don't work like that.
