The UN is a joke. But in the case of Iraq we agreed to work through the Security Council. Consider these two facts and tell me the UN isn't a joke:

The UN has chosen Iraq to chair its disarmamant conference later this year.

The UN has chosen Libya to chair its human rights conference.

The UN is a place we are supposed to act like the above is sensible. Some have jokingly compared the UN to 25 civilized people and 75 cannibals meeting to discuss what to have for lunch.

Oh yes, your question about Israel. Yes its well known they have nuclear weapons. I don't blame them. They are surrounded by people who want them dead.
