And appear willing to stand with us.
I've always said I would support a just and necessary ( no way out ) war.I remain committed to that stand today.
Canadians have the luxury of seeing things from the outside-in at this point, but I don't think that will last much longer.Canada will support the US, as we should, through thick and thin, but it will likely be " support of the willing ",not genuinely " support of the willed ".
The Euros, especially France and Germany, are taking some heavy shots these days.I can understand those who feel betrayed by their position, but I think many should step back and understand that they are taking no different position than vast numbers in their own country, and these are also democratic nations who can vote out of power those they think are not acting in THEIR country's best interest.
Once a declaration has been made ( if there actually is a declaration of war )we should support our men and women in combat, knowing they too are just following orders. But to declare an outright victory will take some kind of miracle.
Let's see what happens before and after the inspectors return next weekend. If Saddam is smart,he will drop his drawers and let them look where the sun don't shine, once and for all.Failing that, its " Onward Christian Soldiers ".
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war, With the cross of Jesus going on before. Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe; Forward into battle see His banners go!
Refrain
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war, With the cross of Jesus going on before.
At the sign of triumph Satan’s host doth flee; On then, Christian soldiers, on to victory! Hell’s foundations quiver at the shout of praise; Brothers lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
Refrain
Like a mighty army moves the church of God; Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod. We are not divided, all one body we, One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.
Refrain
What the saints established that I hold for true. What the saints believèd, that I believe too. Long as earth endureth, men the faith will hold, Kingdoms, nations, empires, in destruction rolled.
Refrain
Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane, But the church of Jesus constant will remain. Gates of hell can never gainst that church prevail; We have Christ’s own promise, and that cannot fail.
Refrain
Onward then, ye people, join our happy throng, Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song. Glory, laud and honor unto Christ the King, This through countless ages men and angels sing.
