We are finally getting down the the "End Game," BBM. I expect the Iraqis to play some "Rope a Dope" with the Inspectors this weekend at the Blix meeting, in hopes of getting Blix to give them a better grade on the 15th.
Normally, in a situation like this, the Iraqi Generals would go to Saddam and say, "we can't support you any longer." Perhaps they figure he would have his bodyguards kill them if they did. So what are they planning? They know they can't beat us, and they want to survive the war. My best guess is that they will wait until we invade, and then individually head for their own "Bolt Holes" to survive with their families, or keep their troops in the Barracks while telling Saddam they are attacking as ordered.
We need to do two key things. We need to attack before they expect us to, and we need to get "Inside their Time cycle" and move faster than they expect. What was learned from "Gulf One" was that the Iraqis were the most confused and befuddled the first day of the Air War. After a few days, they became hardened to the attack, and could think and maneuver. We need to take advantage of that and attack right with the Air Attack. If you see us wait a few days for the Air attack to knock down the Iraqis, you will know the Generals have "Screwed the Pooch."
As I said yesterday, we need to be in Baghdad in 24 hours. If we do, the war will be over then. Speed, Speed, Speed! |
