Passions are intense when it comes to politics these days… Is a war against Iraq justified? Is it in our long-term national interest? Is it in the interest of the world at large?

I think it can be argued that the choice has been made FOR us on September 11, 2001. We are already at war. To fight or not to fight in Iraq at this time is merely a matter of strategy, of choosing your battles in a war – which is already “hot” anyway, like it or not.

Are Al Qaeda and saddamite Iraq connected? Since they have common enemies, are they likely to cooperate in the future?

Do you believe that Saddam Hussein, if allowed to stay in office, is likely to use WMD’s in the future as leverage against the US and other countries in order to accomplish his goals? Like, for example, advise his potential adversaries to maintain neutrality on fear of using WMD’s hidden in their respective countries, while he tries to annex Arabia, Kuwait, or use unconventional weaponry against Israel or others?

If you do believe that this is a possibility, can we really afford it? Can we take the risk of finding ourselves some day in such circumstances?

The next question borders on heresy: In a world, where an individual or a group or an outlaw country could, at least theoretically, have the potential of destroying entire countries and continents – can we still afford to stick to the principal of non-interference with the internal affairs of others?

It would appear that we really can not allow anymore for any country to be run by a mafia-like totalitarian group. If we do, than sooner or later another dictator will outmaneuver us – more successfully than Saddam.
