I used to drink that (Kokanee) swill by the gallon, and Uncle Ben's too, now long demiséd. Best domestic beer I ever tasted was a (Winnipeg) Manitoba ale called I think Special Reserve or something like that. It had a white label. I think it was the water. All bottled drinks change substantially in taste when the water changes hardness, taste or purity. (Don't tell Coca-cola.. I know where the water is the purest in canada due to radioactivity killing all the bacteria. Water is fine, drank it all my life. The soft drinks bottled with this water, taste distinctly different from others.) Next best was Brador, when it was 12% alcohol. I believe the come on with K was that it was made with pure panther pith or so-called glacier water. I think they were banking on you forgetting that by the second bottle, as they did put an ingredient in it called Interecallnon.
