Our dishes and flatware became such a hodge-podge that last year I went to a discounters and bought two 4 place settings of dishes and 2 eight place settings of flatware. No reason to buy the good stuff as it all winds up in the barn to feed the cats. OTOH I'm down to 7 plates as last year Sue crawled up my nose over some minor thing when I sat down to eat dinner. Made me so upset I got the shakes and couldn't eat so I took my plate to the kitchen to eat it later. She followed me in, not backing off, and getting on me for being upset. 6 months later I was still finding pieces of that plate.

There are three 12 place settings of Bone China in the two breakfronts that haven't seen light for 20 years. One, I was going to say from the turn of the century, but it was the turn before the last one. Jeeze, we've lived in two centuries, you must be getting old.
