Kuwait has plans to evacuate all of its aircraft out of the country by Feb 15th. You can't book a flight to anywhere from Kuwait because all seats are sold out. It seems the population has decided to evacuate too. The Kuwaitis seem pretty certain that war is imminent.

I think there is a very strong case for waging war on Saddam in order to liberate Iraq. I don't think US has made that case very well because of the pathetically weak (lies IMO) evidence they have presented, and western complicity in the Iran/Iraq war crimes.

The longer that war is delayed, the more those lies will get uncovered and the more foolish Bush admin will look. They would have been better to say "trust us, we have secret info that justifies the war" and left it at that. Then they would have had the chance to come up smelling of roses when Iraq was liberated and a vastly more humane and content society was allowed to develop in that country, and by influence the rest of the region.

They better get on and wage this war fast IMO. Best also if they abandon the misguided shock and awe plan that will kill and maim a lot of civilians. The fears of widespread urban warfare as Iraqi army retreats to fight in the cities are BS. Iraqi army would love to turn on Saddam right now but are too scared. With 100k+ US troops behind them they would have no problem hunting him down.

Saddam relies on a small group of cronies to protect him. These cronies know that if Saddam is toppled, they will be hacked to bits by the newly liberated mob. His cronies' survival depends on his survival, so they look after him. These people will either fight to the death or flee. They number at the absolute most 50k. The regular Iraqi army will deal with them without the need for US/UK forces to risk their lives in urban combat. BUT ONLY IF THE US DOESN'T DO SOMETHING IDIOTIC LIKE CARPET BOMB 100,000 OF THE WRONG PEOPLE LIKE THEY DID LAST TIME!

I guess my point here is that I disagree with u about there being no war this year!
