Certainly, the United States knew that they were probably going to be attacked. U.S. Pacific forces were alerted before the attack, that hostilities were imminent. You want cynical? Why did the commanders of Pearl fear sabotage, and place the air fleet where they could easily be destroyed by air? You want really, really, really, sickeningly cynical? Check out all the websites out there that are questioning the many strange and contradictory occurrences on 911. These sites are proliferating rapidly and they are not all written by wild-eyed loonies.
