In conventional round one 50,000 people die on the first day. North Korea wins in the sense that they seize control of Seoul and push farther south. It then takes six months to a year to defeat the North -- and the loss of life is staggering. In a nuclear scenario the losses are much higher and include Japan -- whom we defend. I have always said we lose round one if North Korea attacks -- there are no scenarios in which we win round one.
