Hello Don, <<Are you overlooking the huge disparity of income and generally lack of middle class in China>>
No, I am not, but I am paying more attention to the rise of the middle class.
<<Also Americans home and abroad are very quick to question their govt. in the press and in the sreeets?>>
Samo samo, except I happen to think the Chinese government is doing an admirable and world class job, scientifically, step-by-step, in face of daunting difficulties that would ordinarily sink civilizations, and making progress, better than I can.
The problem I see for China is ...
(a) lack of moral guidance, as in it is big, just big, and growing fast, very fast, but lacking in moral guidance in many parts at all levels. Hopefully education and rising young and worldly class will ameliorate matters; and
(b) the job (infrastructure, agricultural reform, ..., going to the moon) that remains to be done is big.
But then, life is tough, and competition is rough, always, but rarely leading to splintering collapse. Collapse from a low base is not the norm.
