Actually, giving birth is far more dangerous than any abortion in the first two trimesters... But that isn't any point that I care about. It isn't my job to tell someone that a foreign agent has a right to live inside them without their consent. If they developed a tumor, I wouldn't make them "carry it to term" because they smoked. I'd rather they didn't smoke, and didn't have to have a tumor cut out. It is an invasive and inelegant solution to a problem. Similarly, I'd rather a 13 year old didn't have unprotected sex and have an abortion. But to saddle a 13 year old girl (and her parents) with a child is not my right either and seems punitive. If an abortion needs to be done (as I would do if it was my daughter), then it should be done as soon as possible. And I wouldn't want this private, painful matter to be met with a bunch of hypocrite jackasses with signs down at the local clinic. I want it safe and private, as it should be.
