is this the end of NATO as we know it ?

We are going to see a lot of posts that this is due to the "Macho" behavior of this Admin. But I think it is going to be a structural change. NATO is just not as important any more. The very fact that it was enlarged so much weakened it. Pundits have been writing for years that this "Everybody in" philisophy was a mistake, but it just changed it to a mutual aid society for Europe that could keep us involved.

We are relocating our "Force Projection" out of Europe. Makes sense in the evolving World.

I think the countries in Europe that lined up with us last week are madder than hell at German, Belgium, and France over this. Look for a public reaction.

Chirac is going to be exposed as an even worse scoundrel than we suspect, IMO.
