Latest polls are CDU (conservatives) 58%, SPD (social democrats) 22% - I have never experienced such an extreme distribution before Egad! It's as bad as all that? One would think Herr Schoeder might soon receive a delegation of SPD "elders" urging the Chancellor to resign, if only for the good of the party. At the very least, they might advise him to stop mucking about in "Foreign Affairs" and concentrate on healing the German economy. It's down to 22%? What are they waiting for? The teens? Goodness gracious, even Chavez is more popular.
