WSA Names Microsoft .NET Framework Most Promising New Technology
REDMOND, Wash. -- Feb. 10, 2003 -- Microsoft Corp. today announced that the Microsoft® .NET Framework, the component of the Windows® operating system for building, deploying, and running Web-based applications, "smart" client applications and Web services, has won the WSA Industry Achievement Award in the Most Promising New Technology category. The WSA, the oldest and largest technology trade association, announced the winners Wednesday night at its eighth annual celebration. The .NET Framework and Microsoft Visual Studio® .NET, Microsoft's flagship programming tool, have tallied 13 top industry awards in less than a year of general availability.
