Okay, I checked your picks out. Not too bad. As we both know it's really damn near impossible to find another GEMS under 10. But one of the reasons that I went ahead and took some profits in GEMS is because I have missed a couple of other opportunities in the last few months. GEMS has been a very steady climber in comparison to some of the more volatile companies to which I refer. They include AVID, DSPG, CLFY, TLCM, etc. Insider buying in all of these issues could have brought at least a 50% return to an investor in less than 3 months. More likely a 100% return if the investor had bought at the level that the insider's did. As for myself I have purchased shares in ANTC, AURL, DIGI, DGII, GEMS, and RAYS(the only non-tech) in the last 9 months. Only AURL remains below my buy point with a less than 10% loss. While GEMS was my only double I have an 80% return on ANTC and a 60% return on DIGI. DGII and RAYS are more recent purchases and are up about 8 to 15% repectively over my buy points. Thing is that with only one small loser in the bunch I have to ask myself why? It's been a pretty good rate of return. One which I expect will improve. Insider buying is the only thing that the stocks have in common. These gains far outstrip the S&P 500 or that of the average mutual fund. If we add MENT or EXBT to the list will they do the same? That's what I would like to have the opportunity to discuss on a new thread. Insider buying is the greatest single deciding factor behind my buy decisions these days. WHY? You know why. For Linda: No way on anything but a new thread. I don't want it cluttered up with a lot of beaten down stocks that just might stay that way. Insider buying is where I would like to see the thread start but we would need to see some real fundamental analysis as well as technical analysis. Unfortunately despite the fact that following insiders as I suggest will increase the average investors rate of return while reducing the risk of losses I don't think there is enough interest to keep such a thread going. So I guess I will follow my own research and sense of timing. Regards, Jeff
