I don't think the masses are paying too much of what the Catholic church has to say these days. They don't seem have a position to speak about crimes on humanity in view of events over the past years.
When I took a management course, one of the big statements was, "When ever there is a problem within an organization, the responsibility goes (step by step) right back to the top".
So the pope need not think he can isolate himself from these recent events and has not much place to talk of others conduct. In this case,Ignorance is not bliss. It is ignorance.

Lately, I'm have trouble keeping the TV for more the 2 min. when bush is speaking. The poor slobs think he is pouring grave when it more like liquid $hit.
The blinders are on, full speed ahead.
