Everything you say has merit. It's up to us not to let NATO die for I believe it still serves a purpose although the benefits to the US seem to be dwindling. We don't need anyone to accomplish the task at hand although it would be nice to have their support. There will be future events that strike closer to home for France and others and at that time it will be important for us to let them hang near the edge before saving their asses. In the end NATO (as it is suppose to be) is good for everyone. I'm pissed but not mad enough to chuck it all. This is just another bump in the road but as I said before - there must be costs associated with decisions made by members that fail to support us. Once we topple Saddam France should not see a dime for repayment of debt owed them by Iraq.
