Only if the process proceeds to a point in which it can be sustained. In the case of abortion it does not reach that point, the "self" never begins. Hehe. Gotta go. But I must simply say it is obvious your person was expressing itself long before you became aware of it. Your awareness is simply an outgrowth of this unique "self" we now call you. You were a unique human expression within the family of humanity from the very moment you were conceived. Consciousness was not required to mark you as unique and as uniquely human apart from all other biological machines. The minute your biological nature entered the human path of expression, you were marked as one of us. You are yet expressing human "TigerPawness" in the same essential way you did when you first expressed it as a conceptus. You simply have added quite a lot of complexity to it, thought being amongst this complexity. Gotta run.
