"here we have the showcase example of the head-on collision between the stereotype Sierra Clubber and Visionary Engineer ideologies. What do you want the future to look like: a garden or a tract of wilderness? Think on it; the time spent between the present and that future realized depends on that answer, and a consensus on how to get there.

Thanks, Andrew, for really making clear what we are talking about. I really like the Sierra Clubber and Visionary Engineer labels. I don't think the wilderness is really gone, if the Sierra Clubbers can stop the process and preserve what we have left. I wish I thought the Visionary Engineers could really create a garden!! I guess it would be pretty hydroponic, and there is nothing really wrong with that, either, if that is not all we have. What prevents us from having wilderness AND the garden??

I guess I am concerned because the factions seem to be so far away from each other. Is there anything in the middle that will work? Or is there going to be a huge battle where no one really wins, and then it is too late??

What do you think will happen, Alex?
