"Still think they are such fine. selfless humanitarians?"

That is not my point. My point is that such an overwhelming imbalance of power which exists in the world requires some obstacles to prevent it gaining too much momentum in (possibly) the wrong direction. Even if the opposition is not entirely right or even mostly ill considered, it may still have some modicum of truth which requires consideration, and it encourages all nations and all people to closely examine all aggressive actions undertaken by anyone and then to closely examine them again, and then again. War always takes innocent lives regardless of the justification for the engagement. Humanity should never be complacent about aggressive acts. Eventually the stronger person will be on the other side. We all will hope then that they will feel some obligation to justify aggression toward ourselves or another.

I am not saying the US should not attack. I am not saying the opposition have proven their case. And I am not ignoring the fact that self-interest and bias inform the various positions that all the Nations take in the matter. I am simply saying that nobody should simply follow aggression any more than they should simply follow some religous cult. The support should follow upon thoughtful examination of all the information and facts. I am talking about the world exercising an abundance of caution in how it "authorises" aggression against Nations. Some opposition allows time for people to consider counter arguments, and to deliberate with thoughtfulness rather than to act with blind and unexamined support.
