As a kid, I watched Three Stooges, but I never liked the way they abused each other.

They did epitomize a lot of different styles of being human like stupidity, logic, fear, anger, intolerance, kindness, creativity and brotherhood, but the hitting thing went too far.

Actually, it was the early TV shows that really fired my imagination. I never wanted to miss Sky King or The Lone Ranger. I gravitated to cowboy stuff and thought Rowdy Yates (Clint Eastwood..who BTW winked at me in a lunch line at the midway lodge on Highlands Mountain, Aspen) Gil Favor, (Eric Fleming, who drowned while making the movie High Jungle. Rumor had it that he was eaten alive by piranhas). Did you know that Sheb Wooley, who played Pete Nolan was the guy who sang "The Purple People Eater"?

I will never forget the TV show "Combat" with Vic Morrow and Gil Hanley.

I guess I was looking for heros just like every other kid, and these guys were it.

I though over your comment that you find it hard to watch Carey and Williams, and I have to admit I can only take them in small doses too. I can't relate to them for long. Their "humor" gets stale fast.
