I was watching Powell, who was apparently trying not to choke on his own words, testify before Congress just now. He's tired,haggard, his swollen face, drooping lids, raspy voice evidence of the terrible burden of trying to convince the world to destroy itself.
Last night, Jay Leno was talking about Bush's offer of food, housing, education jobs to the Iraqi people. Why doesn't he offer that to the American people. Why are hundreds of Chicagoans applying for three jobs!!! Why are people starving in this country? Why are people who are without work, without any other resources as well? There's no safety net and it's beginning to look like Depression here. In the meantime Bush promises the moon to people whom he plans to kill.
Oh, that's the other irony, he's sending our great military might into Iraq to possibly kill soldier, but certainly to kill women and children while he plans to give the monster running that country and his cohorts asylum. |
